Creates moulds of 3D printed resin jewellery models Cures in 60-90 minutes at room temperature 0% shrinkage created Strong, economical and long lasting Transparency provides a visual of model encased Creating a mould for your jewellery item is a time-saving solution, in a fast paced industry with demand for quick turn around. Cold moulding or RTV (room temperature vulcanising) such as this is generally used for natural materials and wax or resin CAD CAM models as vulcanising would apply excessive heat and pressure for them to take. This Castaldo LiquaFast Ice RTV Liquid Moulding Rubber comes in a two part solution which must be weighed and mixed together accurately to create a strong, tear resistant rubber mould that remains formed and does not become softer over time. This mould also has a low viscosity of 8,500cps making it easy to pour and work with. The transparency of this rubber mould makes it ideal for recognising your mould patterns as they can be seen through the rubber. The rubber is easy to measure, mix and pour out and creates 0% shrinkage which aids you in an accurate sized final piece. Once mixed, vacuumed, added to the frame and vacuumed again you can expect this mould to cure in 60-90 minutes, or for a faster cure you would need a temperature of 50°C /120°F, you can achieve this by placing near a radiator or in a cooling furnace. To use: Mix your cold mould solution by adding part A (catalyst) to part B – two parts need to be at room temperature and measured accurately Mix thoroughly for 3-4 minutes until the parts have fully incorporated; the working time before the cure begins is 45 to 60 minutes Vacuum the solution for 5 minutes to remove any large air bubbles, when it rises and collapses this will signal that it is complete Attach the sprue of your model to the sprue support at the bottom of the frame using wax such as (998 278W) and a heated electric pen such as (999 BAH) When secure in centre, put the plastic sheets either side and pull over the elastic bands to hold in place. Pour in your solution; Please note – solution should not be poured directly onto the model, keep to the sides and do not fill to the top but make sure the model sits at least halfway up your mould) At this point you will need to vacuum your mould again, to pull out anymore air bubbles, the liquid will rise and fall again before you are ready to inspect the liquid for large bubbles Once vacuumed you can leave over night to cure Once dry you can simply remove bands to release your mould and gently pull sprue from it`s support Ensure that your mould is secured before cutting with a sharp scalpel blade (please seek advice before attempting this)
